I was going about my business when the news director told me that there was a report of armed gunmen on the campus. When I got back to the newsroom, I handled calls from concerned parents about their kids down there and what was going on. Then, the news director told me to take the live van and go live from down there. Of course, by the time I got there, we learned that the whole gunman threat was unfounded and that, after security checks throughout the campus, all was well. I made a long two hour drive, just to get to the campus and see everything was fine. I did get to look at the window of the certain room that sat in the third floor of the Academic building while I was working on getting the satellite shot with CNN...kinda felt full circle at that point.
